Information, Calcul et Communication

Description

This page summarizes the information that is available on the course’s moodle page, where also the slides as used during the lectures will be made available along with other supporting material.

This course will be taught (in English) every Tuesday from 16:15 to 18:00 in room CO1, starting Tuesday September 17, by Arjen K. Lenstra. There will be exercise sessions once every two weeks (i.e., weeks 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, and 13) on Fridays from 16:15 to 18:00 in rooms BC01, INJ218, INM203, and INR219, starting Friday September 20. Furthermore, there may be exercise sessions in weeks 4, 8, and 12 as well, also on Fridays from 16:15 to 18:00, in various rooms as specified on the moodle page.

The course consists of an introductory lecture, followed by three modules of four lectures each. On Friday October 25 (week 6) and Friday November 22 (week 10) there will be two 45 minute quizzes on modules 1 and 2, respectively, from 16:15 to 17:00 in rooms BC01, INJ218, CM2, CM3, and CM1105. Here are the room assignments for the quizzes: ordered on your name, and ordered on your sciper number. The seating plans are here.

The final exam, mainly on module 3 but including questions on the first two modules as well, will be held on Tuesday December 17 from 16:15 to 18:00 in rooms CO1, CM3, and CM1121 (thus, the final exam replaces the 14th lecture). Sciper number dependent room assignments for the final exam will be posted later. Each of the two quizzes accounts for 20% of the overall grade, the final exam for 60%.
